Episode 15 - Bennett Slater

In this episode we're joined by our good friend and oil painter supreme Bennett Slater. We talk to him about the Star Wars themed art show he was in, The Force For Change and how Joss Whedon owns a BS original. The movie he suggested as his hidden gem is Blue Ruin, which spurs talk of how to properly use violence in movies. We then go on to talk about the YGLI for the week Jurassic World and are joined by Darryl. This is a LONG one that goes in a million directions. 

Andrew's suggesting for the week is a comic called Head Lopper. Bennett suggests y'all check out the AMAZING TV show Man Seeking Woman. Kohji says you should check out the film Land of the Lost.

Episode 14 - Fernando the Love Machine Pacheco

This is a very special episode! Our first interview is with Fernando the Love Machine. He is an artist, the host of Fernando's Walk of Shame podcast, leader of the 808 Green Thumbs, has been a member of both Go Jimmy Go and Pimpbot, and the host of Hawaii's favorite sketch comedy show Almost Local. He has us look at Glory Daze, which gets us all thinking about the fight against growing up and what being punk might be. We also try and find the good in Interstellar, which is easier for some of us than others.

Episode 13 - The Music Episode

In this episode Andrew and Kohji are joined by friend and Maladies of Adam Stokes drummer Ted. It's also the music episode! We look at albums by Birthing of Millions, Lone Bellow, the OST from Ori and the Blind Forest, and The Horrible Crowes. The music brings up discussion on the awkwardness of showing your friends new music, punk singers turning folk, and getting older.  

Andrew's suggestion for the week is The Impossible Kid by Aesop Rock (not A$AP Rocky!). Ted's suggestion is the move Violent by We Are the City and a bonus suggestion for Andy Shauf's The Party. Kohji's suggestion is the little known 2 player element of Secret of Mana for SNES. We as a team also suggest playing Drawful for most modern systems.

In this episode we look at one of Kohji's favorite things, The Wake. We then look at Wing Commander and try to remember what made it the worst movie ever. That spawns a conversation about getting lost in the vastness of space and the game No Man's Sky. We end off the chat with things we may have hated at one time that we learned to love. Good news, our friend Darryl is back! In this episode Andrew, Kohji and Darryl discuss the hidden gem Before the Devil Knows You're Dead and other depressing movies, most starring Ryan Gosling. They look for the good in Gods of Egypt and decide that it would have been a much better animated film (maybe in the style of Mummies Alive). They then go on to talk about what makes a bad movie good. This time Darryl takes the reigns in our Are You Kidding Me segment where he defends Napoleon Dynamite.
